Where lead testing matters most

surfaces, tableware, and bathroom fixtures can still carry trace lead today. A quick swab test catches this
before it becomes a hazard.
Reading the result
A swab that stays mustard yellow after wiping indicates no lead detected. Any shift toward pink or
purple-red is a positive reading — the deeper the shade, the higher the surface lead concentration.

How to test a surface

Wet the tip. Add 3–5 drops of water to a swab and shake off excess liquid.

Confirm activation. The moistened tip turns mustard yellow — it’s now ready to use.

Wipe for 30 seconds. Press firmly against the surface. A purple-red change means the result is positive.
